Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a cosmetic surgery procedure that enhances the size and shape of the buttocks by removing excess fat from other areas of the body, such as the hips, abdomen, back, or thighs, and injecting it into the buttocks. The goal is to create a fuller and more rounded appearance, giving a youthful and attractive look to the backside. The procedure is performed under general or local anesthesia and involves liposuction to harvest fat and transfer it to the buttocks.

BBL results in fat loss in problem areas, increased buttocks volume and balanced proportion in the lower part of the body. The waist area can also be thinned and the body can be given a flawless hourglass shape.

If there is sagging skin, it is not intervened. If there is sagging skin on the legs or buttocks, butt lift and thigh lift surgery may also be required.

Brazilian Butt Lift Advantages

  • Individuals who complain about large hips can have a more aesthetic, fuller and younger hip appearance with this operation. The procedure gives projection to the hip and helps to achieve steep, prominent, rounded buttocks, and eliminates the asymmetry between the hips.
  • Improves the folds in the lower part of the body.
  • It reduces regional fat tissues. Abdomen, waist, thigh, hip etc. It balances the fat ratio in the regions.
  • Corrects the contour of the legs, and sharpens the waist shape.
  • The size of the upper and lower parts of the body harmonizes with each other during BBL.
  • Clothes fit the person better after this surgery.

Who is a Brazilian Butt Lift Suitable for?

The person should have enough fat for the operation. Skin elasticity should be good. Those with severe butt sagging are not suitable candidates for this operation.

Those who do not want to undergo implant treatment but aim to add volume to the hip area can prefer this operation.

This surgery, which is suitable for small, and flat buttocks, can be performed on both women and men. Silicone/implant is not used. Butt filling is obtained from the fats in the body of the person.

The Difference Between Hip Implant and Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure provides very good results and the risk of complications is low. Implants or fillers are preferred for those who are skinny and do not have enough fat for this procedure. However, there is a possibility of infection during the implant operation.

Moreover, the hip implant offers a less natural appearance. Brazilian Butt Lift creates a more natural look.

How Is Brazilian Butt Lift Done?

The physician performs a comprehensive examination before the procedure, including taking the patient’s medical history and assessing their overall health. The examination also evaluates fat accumulation in areas such as the lumbar region, anterior abdominal wall, and hips, as well as skin elasticity and quality. Liposuction is performed to remove excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs. The extracted fat is then purified and prepared for injection into the hips to enhance volume and improve shape.

The procedure can be done with either local or general anesthesia and is generally pain-free. Some of the injected fat may be absorbed initially, but if necessary, additional fat can be injected a few weeks later for a more permanent result.

After Brazilian Butt Lift

  • Pain is considered normal. If a drug has been prescribed for this, it should be used regularly.
  • Sitting/lying on the hips should be avoided for 2 weeks. It can be lying on its side or face down.
  • The person should perform all activities standing up except using the toilet.
  • If your doctor approves at the check-up after 2 weeks, you can start sitting slowly by placing a pillow under your thighs or using a donut-shaped chair. These pillows prevent the formation of pressure on the hip. It will take 8 weeks before you can be allowed to sit as before.
  • The person can go back to their daily activities after 1 week. If they are working, they can return to work in 10-14 days.
  • The results obtained from the surgery maintain their permanence for many years. However, weight loss or increase can change the result of this procedure. Therefore, it is important to keep the weight balanced.
  • Ideal results are seen after about 6 months. The person gets more voluminous and shaped hips and butt.

Brazilian Butt Lift Risks

BBL surgery is considered a low-risk and safe procedure compared to hip replacement and such operations. However, as with any surgical intervention, some side effects are likely to occur after this operation:

  • Lump formation under the skin
  • Injection
  • Fat embolism (occurs when fat enters the bloodstream) which can have fatal consequences in the lungs or heart
  • skin loss
  • Transferred fat can melt too much.
